| The following products are produced by the York Electronics Centre (YEC) at The University of York. They provide the means to control MIDI sound using a variety of sensors including untrasound beams and pressure pads. |

The whole system is controlled from a versatile hardware device called the MIDIcreator. There are many different sensors that can be used with the MIDIcreator. The sensors are sold separately.

Two of the SmartCards are pre-programmed with socket configurations. One is blank for you to program using the intuitive Windows software. It includes scales, chords, note sequences, MIDI controllers, digital outputs...
The MIDIcreator + has a built in audio card with stereo audio line output.

An ultrasound beam detects the gesture of a hand or someone moving near by. Reaches up to 3 metres but range can be set to 1,2 or 3 metres.
The proportional output plugs into the MIDIcreator. One unit can be powered from the MIDIcreator.
MIDIgesture: £195.00 + VAT
Designed to detect the slightest movement. Create a sound without touching anything. Will detect a finger, arm, leg or head movement over a range of 100mm. The capacitance sensor has a proportional output and is powered from the MIDIcreator.
MIDIsensor: £59.00 + VAT
A single marimba/xylophone wooden block which generates a switched sound when struck. A number can be assembled for a keyboard. Powered from MIDIcreator.
MIDIblock: £29.00 + VAT
A foam filled cushion giving a signal varying with pressure or "squashability". Supplied with a black plastic bag as an inner sleve suitable for fitting into a home crafted cushion cover of any material (not supplied). Powered from MIDIcreator.
